I'm Alive

We have survived our first natural disaster. We tried to make the most of the power being off and turned it into a cozy weekend in. Candles took up every surface setting the scene. After charging our laptop at the local pub we settled in bed for a movie marathon and munchies evening.
The rain has stopped and the river is slowly going back down. Everyone wanders the streets checking out the damage and making sure neighbours are ok.
Life is slowly returning to normal.

  3. So happy that life is returning to normal for you. Although scary, a cozy night watching movies, surrounded by candles sounds pretty romantic!

  5. This reminded me so much of when there are cyclones in Fiji. My sister and I would play scrabble by candlelight and our little brother would stay close - this was especially wonderful because it was at an age when his big sisters were no longer the center of his universe! I'm glad that the weather is improving, today was quite cold and overcast here. I wonder if we'll get the rain next...

    1. That sounds like such an amazing memory. Of course except the scary weather part.

    1. There was a cyclon that hit Northern Queenland causing massive rain fall, wind storms and flash flooding. Brisbane was hit pretty hard but some towns further north were evacuated and lots of homes have now been condemned. It was pretty crazy.
