Hello lovely readers. Happy Saturday. What a beautiful day to be going on a wine tour. Thats right, I am up nice and early on this fine morning because I am off to drive around the Adelaide hills, taste some wine, take lots of picture and eat delicious food.
One should, of course, defend oneself vigorously against the attacks of extra pounds, wrinkles, and double chins, but it is a battle that should be undertaken philosophically, for even the most skilful plastic surgery cannot recapture our youth. It is far better to settle down without vain regrets to a life filled with the rewards of past efforts and the joys that we at last have the means to give to others, instead of sulking like little girls when we are far too old to cast ourselves in such a childish role.
Elegance can be acquired only at the price of numerous errors that are best remembered with good humour. And in the end, it is in the moments when we forget ourselves entirely that we are at our most beautiful.
Today for Wanderlust Wednesday I thought I would talk about a place I will be heading to very soon. I have been looking forward to this trip for some time as we will be catching up with some dear friends of ours. I have heard that Adelaide is beautiful and I am really excited that the beach is 10 minutes away if that.
Lots of exploring to be done and of course a wine tour or two.
Summer is slowly coming to an end. The hot sticky humidity that I had finally gotten use to is being replaced by cool breezes and rainy days. Every chance we get we race to the beach to soak up the sunny days and feel the sand between our toes.
Magnetic Island is probably my favourite place here in Australia. It was so peaceful with hardly anyone around and tons of rainforest and wildlife. Going for a drive you will see Koala's sleeping in the trees. Order fish and chips and relax on the beach, watching the sunset in the distance. I could have stayed here for our entire year in Australia and I would have been completely satisfied.
I know I haven't blogged much the past couple of weeks. Things just seem to get in the way. I always feel like I have so much time to accomplish things, but lately I have been a huge procrastinator.
I tend to ignore things that need to get done and push everything away until the last minute thus causing myself to get extremely stressed out. We need to sort out a million things like flights, where we are going to live, what jobs we will have when we get there.
So while I am stuck thinking all these things through and slowly working my way to getting everything organized blogging has sadly taken a back burner. But I promise I have lots of things that I want to share with you guys. Especially regarding our future plans for the next year or so. Hopefully over the next couple of weeks I will be able to find some balance so that I can blog more regularly.
I have always wanted to visit Hawaii and its so silly that I haven't vacationed there yet since it is so close to Canada. But it seems to be one of those things where I go to far away destinations rather then the places close to me. I would love to visit a volcano. Thats something I could cross of the never ending bucket list.
Anyone have suggestions of things to do while I am in Hawaii?
Our lovely friends Jeremy and Leana flew in from Adelaide for the weekend. Now I have mentioned before what a wonderful person Leana is. She was who we stayed with when we first arrived in Brisbane and she just instantly put us at ease and made us so welcome. I will be forever grateful to her for that. I became fast friends with Leana. Something that is extremely rare for me these days so when she told us she was coming down I was jumping for joy for a good ten mins. Well maybe five, it's hard work.
We met Saturday afternoon for a coffee and catchup then headed off to our favourite store, Trade Secrets which is similar to Winners ( for all you Canadians) but on a smaller scale. We wandered through the outdoor markets and stopped off at our favourite dumpling place for lunch. A perfect girls day.
Sunday was a chance for the guys to join in and we all got together for drinks at a local pub. I am ashamed to say I didn't take a single picture this weekend. Its just not like me. I will just slap myself on the wrist and promise to do better next time.
All in all it was a fantastic weekend. Exactly what I needed. I feel well rested and ready to tackle the week ahead.
