Its always bittersweet to say goodbye to friends that you have made while travelling. We were so lucky to get the chance to visit Leana and explore Adelaide for a few days. It was such a peaceful and relaxing trip. In the time that we had we packed in as much suntanning, wine drinking and touring that we could.
Leana decided to invite a few friends and take us to the German Club for our last evening out before we jetted off to America. The guys enjoyed the large pints of beer and I sampled a few different wines.
We reminisced about the first time we all met and how much fun we have had with everyone during our stay in Australia.
As you can see it was a fantastic night. I can't believe our visit went so fast. It was a crazy feeling packing all our stuff to get ready for a very early flight.
Its no shock that I love wine, so when Leana suggested that we do a wine tour while we were visiting of course I was on board. The weather was a little cool but at least it didn't rain. On our drive up there Jeremy surprised us with a little stop over to try and spot some Koalas. After walking around for about 5 or so minutes we finally spotted one way up in the trees.
Isn't he just so adorable. I wish I could have taken one home with me.
We went to about four or five places. A couple wineries and also a brewery to keep the guys happy. The wine was fantastic, although I think I prefer the wines from the Hunter Valley region as they have a slightly sweet fruity taste.
Has anyone been to Niagra Falls before? I haven't and I have lived in Canada for some time. But this year, this year it will happen. A potential road trip is in the works and this will be one of the places to visit along the way.
Hallet Cove is a beautiful place tucked away from the towns near by. There is a cafe were you can sit and have a bite to eat before heading down to the beach or head off down the many trails leading off into the hills.
While we waited for the sun to set we walked around the area to check out some formations that had been created over the years. One of them I believe was called the sugar loaf. The sun highlighted them perfectly making the colours stand out as I walked around taking pictures. It would be interesting to visit in ten or so years to see if they have changed since we last visited.
I love love love watching the sunset. The last pictures I had taken of an amazing sunset was our trip to Magnetic Island which you can see here. Other then that I haven't been able to catch the bright colours dancing across the sky as the sun goes down. While cruising around Adelaide we decided to stop for a coffee and relax at the beach to watch the sunset.
Absolutely stunning to watch and as I was taking the pictures a sailboat drifted across making it the perfect picture opportunity.
The other day I read an interesting article over on fib about figuring out what your blogs brand essence is. If you would like to take a look you can find it here. I had never really taken the time to figure this out but after reading this article I have been thinking more and more about trying to figure out what my blog stands for, how I want people to feel when they are visiting my site and where I see this blog heading in the next couple of years.
Some of the questions asked were:
When someone reads this blog they feel ________________
Unlike (name of blog that is the same or similar to yours), my blog is _______________
If my blog were a clothing brand, the people wearing it would be _____________
While thinking about these questions I thought who better then to help me answer these questions that I seem to struggle with then the people who take the time to sit down and read my blog posts.
I would love to here your answers to the above questions and any other input you might have for me.
Jasons family live in Nova Scotia and while planning a trip to visit them I have come across so many beautiful places that I would love to visit. I love waterfalls and never pass up an opportunity to explore them so this is definitely on the to see list.
The lovely Leana decided that on one of her days off she would take us to a secluded beach that she was curious about and had wanted to check out. It was great to drive through the countryside a bit and get to see more of what the area had to offer.
When we arrived at our destination it didn't look like much when we were standing on the cliff looking down but absolutely no one was there. We couldn't possibly pass up the opportunity to have the whole entire beach to ourselves. Conveniently there was a little fish and chips shop right where we parked so we decided to have lunch on the beach. My favourite meal, fish and chips with a little bit of sand mixed in.
While on a walk along the beach Leana ending up getting a bit stuck in some slimy mud
Talk about a fantastic workout. Run or walk up and down these a few times
Adelaide has so many amazing beaches close by, how could we not try and go to each and every one of them. Whenever Leana asked us where we would like to go of course our response was the beach.
In my opinion there is nothing better then spending hot, sunny days lounging on the beach, soaking up the sun and of course reading a great book.
Of course the first day that we tried to relax on the beach, no sooner had we ordered or take away coffee and spread out the blanket a rather large and dark cloud started to head our way.
On another note, how amazing would it be to live in this beautiful building right next to the ocean.
You find a cozy coffee shop to hide away in, and thats just what we did. While we stayed with Leana we had a bit of time to explore on our own while she worked. First thing we did was find a coffee shop we liked to hang out in. This one was so cute and cozy and right by the beach which was perfect for us. They even had a chocolate orange tea that I just had to try.
Jason was in love with this bike they had on display
