Winter hobbies

As the nights get longer and the days colder winter is truly here. I find myself spending more and more time inside. Instead of watching to much bad tv I have decided to take up a few hobbies, the first being knitting. Now I remember learning how to knit when I was younger but it never really stuck. For some reason I have a strong desire to sit and spend hours knitting different creations. Courtesy of pinterest I have found a ton of patterns that I want to make. First I have to re-learn the basics so I am sticking to scarves at the moment.

Do you have any great patterns to share? What are your favourite winter hobbies?

  1. Lovely!
One winter hobby I had was to read books by the fire place. Now my winter is in Australia so beach galore !

    1. that sounds lovely. Well yes we missed winter for all most two years living in Australia. luckily here in Nova Scotia its very mild so it has only snowed a tiny bit.

  2. Okay see I keep telling Jason I want to learn to knit and everyone swears to just buy the needles and yarn and watch youtube videos. This is a must happen soon for me b/c I enjoy keeping my hands busy while I watch films and stuff. Not sure if my brain is overactive due to all my schooling or if it is just my personality but yeah...I need to learn and do this asap. I also am addicted to knit scarfs and hats and those can be pricey! I need to make my own. Save a little cash.

    1. I have actually found a few books at the library that has helped me figure out all the different stitches and all that. I plan on making Jason a few hats to keep him warm while he works outside to.

  3. My knitting skills are so basic. I can make scarves and beanies, and that's about it! Perhaps next winter I'll try something a little more challenging. I must say in the winter I spend a lot more time reading and trying new recipes :)
