January - Slow start

Does anyone else feel like January went by in a blink? I'm still trying to find my feet, collect all my thoughts and write them down in one place. I've been working on my focus word for 2015, which I will share in a later post.

With the weather being pretty mild lately I feel like spring isn't far away and I can't wait to get out into the garden to plant all kinds of things. This is my first rental with a garden, its an exciting new experience for me.

Here are some fascinating reads for your weekend.

  • Sick of being cooped up inside this winter, here are a few road trip ideas
  • Looking for some vacation ideas in Canada, here is a great bucket list to get you started.
  • Are you finally living the life you always wanted but still feel like something is missing, this article might prove to be an interesting read.

Have a great weekend.

Its easy to get caught up in the hype of setting goals for the New Year. Promises are made to be more active, eat healthy. I'm guilty of it. I set goals for myself as soon as I wake up on the first, only later  realizing the goals I wrote down don't work with the life I am trying to build.

This year I decided to give myself January to figure things out. Ease myself into the year. Write thoughts down, mull over ideas and figure out the direction of the year.

I must say this way of thinking is really working with me. I don't do well with a lot of structure or rules. I have lots of things I would love to accomplish, places to see and things on my never ending bucket list that could possibly be completed. Over the next few months I hope to share these with you. Only time will tell.

Do you set goals or intentions every year?

Bring on 29

Today I leave behind twenty-eight and celebrate twenty-nine. In some ways I am sad to leave twenty-eight, it was a great year. I learn't so much about myself and where I want to be. I finally found somewhere that feels like home and I can feel myself putting roots down. This is scary in ways but oh so exciting in others.

I am determined to make the most of my last year before I turn thirty. Not that I am worried about thirty, its just a number after all. But so I can look back fondly on all the memories of my twenties.

Wanderlust Wednesday - 2015 trips

Trip planning

Lately I have been thinking a lot about the trips I would love to take this year. We have decided to stay closer to home and explore Canada. I'm embarrassed to say I haven't seen that much of Canada, isn't that always the case.

Do you have any travel plans this year?

Hello 2015

As I sit here surrounded by my friends and family preparing to toast to the new year, I can't help but look back on all the decisions I have made this year. Decisions that started with a new years resolution to be kind to myself. 2014 was the year I decided to return to Canada, go back to school, move to a quiet town where we might find a place to finally put some roots down.

2014 was a fantastic year and I can't wait to see what 2015 has to offer.
